Greetings I have developed a multi-device application using App tethering as follows:
1. I have an application running on a Windows 10 laptop which periodically creates a small Sqlite database from a master database.
2. I have a mobile application which connects to this Windows 10 application via app tethering to obtain a copy of this database. This mobile application runs on a 10" Lenovo tablet using Android version 6.0.1.
3. Every three seconds, the mobile application sends a "ping" message to the Windows 10 application to let it know that it is still connected. The Windows 10 application displays information from the message in a memo field which shows what profile was received, the date and time, etc.
This configuration works great for my 10" Lenovo tablet, and my 8" Verizon Eclipse. The pings are sent and received as they should be. When I add a view for a 5" Android phone (which of course utilizes the same code as the other two views), the connection seems to get reset, because the message that is received at the Windows 10 application shows no data being received. The S5 is also running Android version 6.0.1.
I have tried this on two separate Galaxy S5 devices, with identical results. I use adapter Network_V4. I have tried it on my shared wifi network, and a standalone wifi network with no internet connection. The results are the same.
When I turned to Google, it seemed to indicate that the S5 has some wifi issues, particularly when it comes to resetting the wifi connection.
Has anyone else tried to do this, and if so, did you have similar results? I'm using Rad Studio Berlin update 2 on a Windows 10 machine for development.
